2,4-D is among the most thoroughly researched substances in the world. As a result of thousands of independent studies and over 65 years of testing, more is known about 2,4-D and how it acts than almost any other herbicide in existence. The following are some of the more important and most discussed studies of 2,4-D today. These and hundreds of other studies and analyses are reviewed by the U.S. EPA, Health Canada PMRA and other regulatory bodies throughout the registration and re-registration/re-evaluation processes. This information along with a multitude of other assessments performed on 2,4-D since the 1940s clearly demonstrate that when used according to label and product instructions, 2,4-D does not pose any unnecessary risk to humans, animals or the environment.
